SKH Ming Hua Theological College
SKH Ming Hua Theological College was established in1947 under the auspices of the Anglican (Sheng Kung Hui) Diocese of Hong Kong and Macao, of which the Rt Revd Ronald Owen Hall was then bishop.
Originally known as SKH Ming Hua College, the first Principal of the College was the late Ven Cheung Shiu-kwai, who had been a Senior Education Officer responsible for adult education with the Education Department, HK, before he retired from civil service in the mid-60's. The objective for which the College was set up was and still is to provide programmes of theological studies to members of the Anglican Church to enable them to gain a deeper understanding of the Christian faith and to become active participants in Christian ministry. In 1996, the Diocese of Hong Kong and Macao endowed the responsibility of preparing candidates for fulltime ministry for the Church upon the College. Hence, the College took on its present name.
The College is located at Glenealy in the Central District of Hong Kong. Its facilities include a chapel, a lecture theatre, classrooms, a library, a general office and a student common room. Single students, both local and overseas, may take up residence in St. John's College, University of Hong Kong, which is also an Anglican institution. Members of the Colleges' teaching staff are largely Anglican priests working in the Province.
